정부세종청사 BRT 환승센터가 23일 개장된다.
22일 행정중심복합도시건설청(이하 행복청)과 한국토지주택공사 세종특별본부(본부장 이대영)는 행정중심복합도시 정부세종청사 BRT 환승센터를 이달 23일 07시부터 개장한다고 밝혔다.
이번에 개장하는 정부세종청사 BRT 환승센터는 지난 2017년 첫마을 BRT 환승센터 이후 두 번째다.
이번 개장으로 행복청은 승용차 위주의 교통수요를 억제하고 자전거, PM 및 대중교통으로 전환해 도심 교통 환경이 개선될 것으로 기대된다.
총사업비 243억 원이 투입된 주차장은 연면적 18,942㎡에 지상 4층에 568대를 주차할 수 있으며 , 자전거 주차 172대, 전기차 충전 6대, PM 충전 공간과 근린생활시설을 갖췄다.
"일반 주차장과 달리 방축천변 특화거리의 도시미관과 생활환경을 고려한 차별화된 입면으로 주변건축물과 조화롭게 건축한 것이 특징"이라는 것이 행복청 관계자의 설명이다.
세종청사 BRT 환승센터는 4개월가량 무료로 운영하면서 시설물 등 미비점을 보완해 9월 1일부터 유료로 전환된다.
권장섭 교통계획과장은 “정부세종청사 BRT 환승센터 개장으로 대중교통 환승편의가 크게 향상될 것으로 예상된다.”라면서 “앞으로 3생활권 환승센터 건립 등 추가 사업도 차질 없이 추진해 나가겠다.”라고 말했다.
