[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 부울경언론연대는 23일 오후 2시 연대 미디어센터에서 소속회원사들과 함께 홍남표 국민의힘 창원시장 후보를 모시고 얼마 남지 않은 6.1 지방선거를 앞두고 있는 시점에서 유권자들에게 후보 선택에 필요한 정보를 제공하고자 인터뷰 시간을 가졌다.
먼저 공정성을 기하기 위해 허성무 후보 측에도 인터뷰 요청을 했지만 허 후보측의 일정상 인터뷰가 진행이 되지 못했다는 점을 알려 드립니다.
그동안 홍남표 후보가 많은 공약들을 이미 발표했기에 공약을 듣기 보다는 공약을 어떻게 이행할 지와 지역의 시급한 현안들을 어떻게 해결할 지에 대해 짚어 봤다.

당초 공공계획이 참 좋았습니다. 하지만 계획이 변경되면서 공공성은 줄어들고 민간개발 부분이 늘어나면서 조수미 예술학교 등의 유치 변경이 되었습니다. 이에 대해 상당히 유감스럽다. 계약서와 계약 변경에 대해 하나 하나 꼼꼼히 살피다보면 문제에 대한 본질이 드러날 것이라고 생각합니다.

지난 문재인 정부에서 탈원전을 선언하면서 우리나라 원전을 원하는 나라가 없었습니다. 하지만 윤석열 정부가 원전 부활을 선언하고, 러시아가 우크라이나와 전쟁을 치르면서 원전기술 강국인 러시아에 대한 반감이 많이 생겼습니다. 이런 상황들이 우리 원전기술을 선택하는데 많은 도움이 될 것으로 예상되는 만큼 우리 창원은 발빠르게 이를 주도해 나갈 필요가 있습니다.
그래서 시장에 당선된다면 가장 시급하게 원전산업을 정상화 시키려는 이유입니다.

관광산업 개발에 대한 배후단지 조성이 함께 수반되어야 하는데 이런 부분들이 전혀 제공이 되지 않았습니다. 경남개발공사와 함께 합의된 내용으로 사업을 이어갔어야 했는데 창원시가 단독으로 결정하다보니 경남개발공사가 감사원에 감사 의뢰를 한 것으로 알고 있습니다. 이 또한 아쉬운 것은 당초 계획은 공공성이 상당이 포함 되었으나 계획이 변경되면서 민간의 입장이 많이 반영이 된 것이 아닌가 생각됩니다.

매립지의 특성상 지반이 상당히 약합니다. 4차공모에서 5차 공모로 넘어오면서 계획이 변경되는데 대규모 상업개발과 고밀도 개발은 상당히 의하한 부분이 있습니다. 대규모 쇼핑몰이 들어서면 인근에 있는 상권들과 상생 부분에서 서로 협의하고 합의를 돌출했었으면 하는 아쉬움이 있습니다. 그리고 오해를 받을 소지들이 있다면 빠른 해소와 새로운 발전을 위해서라도 면밀히 재검토를 해볼 필요가 있어 보입니다. 결국 이런 사업들은 적정한 시간과 타이밍이 중요합니다.
▲청년일자리 창출과 복지정책...
108만으로 시작한 통합 창원시가 2018년 105만 지금은 102만으로 줄었습니다. 그동안 6만의 인구 수 감소가 있었는데 이중 청년의 유출이 9만입니다. 청년들의 숫자가 줄어드는 것은 창원의 미래가 희망이 없다는 것을 증명해주고 있습니다. 디지털 대전환을 통해 기술을 관리하고 운영하는 청년들의 일자리를 늘려 고부가가치를 만들어가야 합니다. 그리고 청년들에게 안정적인 주거환경을 만들어줘야 합니다. 이를 위해서 20년동안 청년들이 관리비 정도만 내고 무상으로 사용할 수 있는 주거환경에 관한 공약을 낸 것입니다.
