창원중앙도서관·창원대학교 특수교육과, 업무 협약

[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 창원중앙도서관(성산도서관과 과장 강문선)는 공공도서관을 이용하는 장애인들을 대상으로 정보 접근 및 독서 활동을 지원하기 위해 창원대학교 특수교육과와 업무 협약을 체결했다고 26일 밝혔다.

이번 협약으로 창원대학교 특수교육과와 협업하여 말이나 글로 의사소통을 하는 데 어려움이 있는 장애인들이 원활하게 도서관 서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 ▲도서관 대상 AAC 책자 제작, ▲학생 자원봉사자와 함께하는 도서관 견학 진행, ▲AAC 교육 등을 진행할 예정이다.

AAC(보완대체의사소통)란 의사소통에 어려움이 있는 사람들이 그림이나 글자판을 가리키며 자신의 생각을 표현할 수 있도록 도와주는 의사소통 보조 수단으로 말을 ‘보완’하거나 ‘대체’한다고 하여 ‘보완대체의사소통’이라고 불린다.

강문선 성산도서관과장은 “도서관 이용에 어려움이 있는 시민들이 의사소통 도움 그림·글자판을 활용해 자유롭게 도서관 서비스를 이용하기를 바란다”며 앞으로도 지역사회를 위해 폭넓은 서비스를 제공할 것이라고 밝혔다.
