국민의힘 대전광역시당이 26일, 최근 대전지역 전역에 설치된 불법 현수막 설치 의뢰자를 강력히 처벌해 달라는 고발장을 대전지방경찰청에 제출했다고 밝혔다.
공직선거법에서는 선거일 전 180일부터는 선거에 영향을 미치게 할 목적으로 후보자의 성명이나 이를 유추할 수 있는 내용의 현수막을 설치할 수 없게 되어있다.
시당은 특정 후보의 당선을 위해 악의적으로 불법 현수막 설치를 의뢰한 자를 신속한 수사를 통해 밝혀낼 것과 함께 법에 의한 강력한 처벌을 경찰에 촉구했다.
국민의힘 대전광역시당은 민주주의의 꽃인 선거의 공정성을 확보하기 위해 앞으로도 불법선거에 대해서는 강력히 대응한다는 방침이다.
