6월 1일 지방선거 투표일이 3일 앞으로 다가왔다. 공약을 바탕으로 지지 호소 대신 상대 후보에 대한 고발과 네거티브 공방이 난무하고 있다.
여론 조사 결과 각 당 후보들 지지율 격차가 워낙 박빙이다 보니 선거 막판에 네거티브가 판을 치고 있다.
대전시장 선거에서는 이장우 국민의힘 후보와 허태정 민주당 후보가 '부동산 보유 문제'와 '병역기피 의혹'을 두고 맞붙었다.
28일 국민의힘 대전시당과 이장우 후보 측은 하루 종일 민주당 허태정 후보를 겨냥해 '논문표절'과 '병역면탈의혹' 등에 대한 비방 논평을 냈다.
허태정 후보측도 이장우 후보의 수도권 부동산 보유와 관련해 대전시장을 하겠다는 사람이 대전에서는 전세를 살고 서울에 집을 보유하고 있다며 공세를 펼쳤다.
앞서 이장우 후보 선대위는 허태정 대전시장 후보와 박영순 대전시당 위원장, 이나영 대전 동구의원 후보, 대전 참교육회 학부모회 관련자 등을 공직선거법 위반 혐의로 대전경찰청에 고발했다.
서철모 국민의힘 서구청장 후보도 '친인척 채용 논란'에 휩싸인 장종태 민주당 후보에 대한 의혹을 전방위적으로 공격했다.

장종태 후보측도 서철모 후보의 현 시세로 40여억 원에 달하는 부동산 보유와 관련해 해명을 요구했고, 특히 수도권에 집을 보유하면서 대전에서는 임시 거주를 하고 있다며 낙선하면 서울로 갈 사람이라면서 공격을 하고 있다.
대전중구청장 김경훈 후보는 김광신 국민의힘 대전 중구청장 후보의 '부동산 투기 의혹'에 대해 해명을 요구하고 나섰다.
김경훈 후보측은 김광신 후보를 향해 '아파트 분양권 전매 차익 논란'과 '농지법 위반', '허위 재산신고 의혹'에 이어 '김 후보 부인의 자금흐름 의혹'까지 제기하면서 전선을 확대하고 있다.
세종시장 선거에서도 이춘희 민주당 후보는 최민호 국민의힘 후보에 대해 '금품 지급 및 대가성 자리 약속' , '현직 장관의 관권선거 개입' , '광범위한 불법 현수막 문제' , '비방 댓글 작업' 등 6대 불법·탈법 의혹을 지난 27일 제기하고 해명을 촉구했다.
29일에도 이 후보 측은 최민호 후보가 전날 오전 막바지 표 결집을 이유로 선거 사무실까지 폐쇄했다고 밝힌것과 관련 "(후보가)선거사무소까지 폐쇄한 경우는 본 기억이 없다"고 몰아 붙였다,
