허태정 더불어민주당 대전시장 후보는 30일 시민과 여·야 정치권을 아우르는 협의체인 이른바 ‘대전협치정치협의회’ 구성과 협의 정례화를 제안했다. 허 시장은 또 ‘청년이룸통장’ 지원 대상의 대폭 확대 등 청년 목돈마련 지원 대책도 내놨다.
허태정 후보는 이날 오후 자신의 선거사무소인 ‘온통행복캠프’에서 구청장 후보들과 함께 연 제7차 정책발표회에서 “시정에 함께 참여하고 지역사회 다양한 주체들의 의견이 존중되고 이를 정책으로 연결될 수 있도록 하는 협의체가 꼭 필요하다는 것이 저의 오랜 생각”이라며 “민선 8기에는 통합의 정치, 통합의 시장이 되겠다는 것이 저의 시장 민선 8기를 맞는 후보로서의 각오”라고 말했다.
허 후보는 “민선 8기는 소통과 통합을 이뤄내는 시장, 시민과의 소통뿐만 아니라 정치 세력과의 협의체를 통해서 서로 협력하고 연대하고 시민들이 하나로 모아질 수 있는 통합의 정치를 만들겠다고 오래전부터 생각해왔다”며 “국민의힘뿐만 아니라 정의당을 비롯한 제정치세력이 참여해 힘을 모아갈 수 있는 틀로 대전협치정치협의회를 제안한다”고 밝혔다.
허태정 후보는 아울러 현재 저소득 근로청년들의 목돈 마련을 지원하는 ‘청년이룸통장’ 대상자 대폭 확대 계획도 발표했다.
허 후보는 “‘청년이룸통장’ 지원 대상을 5배 확대해 저소득 근로청년에게 목돈 마련의 기회를 제공하고 장기 근속을 돕겠다”며 “이미 대전시가 시행하고 있는 정책을 베껴 금액만 올리는 공허한 약속이 아닌, 실질적인 청년들의 지원책을 마련하기 위한 노력을 계속하겠다”고 강조했다.
