[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 창원특례시는 중소벤처기업부 주관 ‘아기유니콘 200 육성사업’에 창원시 소재 기업인 에덴룩스가 최종 선정됐다고 16일 밝혔다.
‘유니콘200 육성사업’은 혁신적 사업모델과 성장성을 검증받은 기업가치 1천억 미만인 유망 창업기업을 발굴해 예비 유니콘기업(기업가치 1천억 이상)으로 육성하는 사업이다.
올해는 전국 284개 중소기업이 지원하여 4.7:1의 경쟁률을 보였으며, 전문심사단과 국민심사단의 최종 심사를 통해 60개 아기유니콘이 선정됐다.
아기유니콘으로 선정된 에덴룩스는 한국전기연구원 연구동에 입주해 있는 기업으로 수술 없이도 시력을 회복시킬 수 있는 헤드셋형 치료기기인 오투스(otus)를 개발한 스타트업이다.
아기유니콘으로 선정됨으로 신시장 개척자금(최대 3억원), 특별보증(최대 50억원), 정책자금(최대 100억원)을 지원받으며, 중기부 연구개발(R&D) 사업 참여시 우대 등을 받을 수 있다.
특히 올해는 기존 연계지원 외에 해외진출지원, 방송광고 지원, 청년채용 장려금, ESG 경영도입 지원 등 다양한 연계사업을 추가하여 더욱 풍부한 지원을 받게 된다.
시는 기술창업생태계 활성화를 위해 지난해 5월 기초지자체 최초로 기술창업지원 조례를 제정했고, 유망기술 창업기업 스케일업을 위해 중소·벤처펀드를 조성했다. 초기 창업기업 육성을 위해 창원시 관내 6개 창업보육센터의 운영비를 지원하고 있다.
