브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 경희의과학연구원은 지난 15일 그랜드하얏트서울에서 365mc네트웍스와 디지털 비만 치료제 개발을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 24일 밝혔다.
협약의 주요 내용은 AI와 스마트 디바이스를 이용한 디지털 비만 치료제 개발, 빅데이터 활용 맞춤형 비만 치료 서비스 개발 등이다.
최근 급속도로 진행되고 있는 헬스케어 분야의 디지털 전환에 발맞춰 개인별 최적화된 모니터링 제공은 물론, 치료, 예방, 관리 부문을 폭넓게 다루며 개발·적용해 나갈 예정이다.
경희의과학연구원 윤경식 원장은 “시공간 제약 없이 실시간으로 자신의 상태를 확인하고 즉각적인 피드백으로 사전 관리를 도모하는 디지털 치료제의 장점을 극대화해 만성질환의 씨앗인 비만을 예방하고 국민건강 향상에 도움이 되고자 한다”며 “비만 하나만 집중해온 365mc와의 긴밀한 상호협력과 국내 우수한 기술력과의 접목을 통해 혁신적인 디지털 비만 치료제 개발에 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 디지털 치료제는 애플리케이션, 가상현실(VR), 메타버스 등 다양한 디지털 플랫폼을 기반으로 질병의 치료 및 관리를 목적으로 사용되는 의료용 소프트웨어로서 새로운 개념의 치료 기술로 주목받고 있다.
