한국타이어앤테크놀로지㈜(이하 한국타이어)가 지난 2일 대전시 대덕구 석봉초등학교에서 지역 주민들을 위한 ‘벽화 그리기’ 봉사활동을 진행했다.
밀알복지재단과 함께 진행한 이번 벽화 그리기 봉사활동은 한국타이어 임직원 및 임직원 가족이 직접 참여해 나눔과 상생의 가치를 경험하고, 지역 주민들에게 볼거리를 제공하고 범죄예방 환경을 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 한국타이어 임직원 및 임직원 가족 50여 명은 대전시 대덕구 석봉초등학교 담장에 새로운 생명을 불어 넣었다.
윤정록 한국타이어 대전공장장은 “주민들과 학생들에게 사랑과 행복이 담긴 담장의 벽화갤러리가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 지역 사회를 위한 다양한 사회공헌활동을 통해 나눔 문화를 확대해 나갈 수 있도록 노력하겠다”라고 전했다.
한편, 한국타이어는 ‘행복을 향한 드라이빙(Driving)’이라는 슬로건 아래 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 통해 사회적 책임을 다하고 있다. 전국 사회복지기관을 대상으로 차량을 지원하는 ‘차량나눔’ 사업을 2008년부터 14년째 이어오고 있으며, 지난해까지 총 627대의 차량을 지원했다.
또 ‘타이어 나눔’ 사업을 통해 2010년부터 2021년 하반기까지 전국 6,654개 사회복지기관에 총 2만 7,054개의 타이어를 지원해 사회복지현장의 서비스 전달체계 효율성과 이동 안전성을 높였다.
