브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 박지원 전 국가정보원장은 7일 국정원이 서해 공무원 피살 당시 첩보를 삭제했다는 혐의로 자신을 고발한 데 대해 "사실이 아니다. 제가 삭제를 했다고 하더라도 (삭제기록이) 국정원 메인 서버에 남는다"고 해명했다.
박지원 전 원장은 이날 CBS라디오 '김현정의 뉴스쇼'에서 "(국정원은) 모든 보고서가 메인 서버에 들어간다. 내가 (삭제를) 지시했다 하면, 지시한 날도 들어가고 삭제된 것도 남는다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "국정원은 PC를 사용하면 바로 다 서버로 연결된다. 종이(첩보 문서)로 된 게 있다 하더라도 다 올라간다"면서 "이러한 현재의 개혁된 국정원을 모르는 과거의 직원 몇 사람이 간부로 들어와 이같은 바보짓을 한 것"이라고 주장했다.
이어 그는 "모든 첩보, SI(특수정보) 문서는 국정원이 생산하지 않는다. 공유할 뿐"이라며 "그렇기 때문에 그러한 몇 페이지 이런 것을 문건으로 본 적도 없고 또 제가 보았다고 하더라도 지시할 바보 국정원장 박지원도 아니다. 직원들이 지금은 개혁돼서 국정원장이 부당한 지시를 하면 듣지 않는다"고 강조했다.
박지원 전 원장은 또한 '원본 첩보 내용은 어디서 받았느냐'는 사회자의 질문엔 "그것은 국정원법상 얘기할 수 없다"며 "한미 정보 동맹이 철저하게 이루어지기 때문에 그러한 문제에 대해서 국민들이 안심해도 좋다"고 말했다.
이와 함께 국정원이 내부 감찰을 통해 삭제 지시 진술을 확보했다는 동아일보 보도와 관련해선 "국정원의 감찰이나 감사는 굉장히 고강도다. 그런 것이 나왔을 때 전직 원장이나 직원도 반드시 감찰, 감사를 해야한다"면서 "그런데 저한테 일언반구도 없이 검찰에 고발한다는 것은 법적으로도 틀렸고 전직 국정원장에 대한 예의도 없는 짓"이라고 비판했다.
박 전 원장이 '내부 입단속을 했다'는 증언이 나왔다는 데 대해서도 "입단속도 한 적이 없고 할 필요도 없다. 국정원 직원들은 보안 의식이 저보다 철저하다"라며 "첩보를 생산한 부처가 있는데 우리가 삭제한다고 해서 그것도 삭제가 되나. 공유문서를 삭제해도 메인서버엔 남는다. 원본을 삭제하는 것 애초에 불가능하다"고 거듭 강조했다.
