[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 박완수 경상남도지사는 12일 도청 대회의실에서 열린 ‘경상남도 주민자치회 이사회’에 주민 중심의 지방자치를 강조했다.

이날 이사회는 박완수 도지사를 비롯 최치광 경상남도 주민자치회장 등 임원 22명이 참석한 가운데 올해 주요사업 추진방향과 내년도 신규사업에 대해 논의했다.

이사회는 주민자치 역량을 강화하고, 시·군의 주민자치 우수사례를 공유하는 경상남도 주민자치 박람회를 10월에 거창에서 개최하기로 하고, 주민자치 역량 강화 방안에 대해서도 심도 있는 의견을 나누었다.

경상남도 주민자치회는 도내 시·군 주민자치협의회로 구성된 비영리민간단체로서 주민자치 정책 연구와 개발, 주민자치 역량강화와 교류사업 등을 추진하고 있다.

박완수 도지사는 인사말을 통해 “경상남도 주민자치회가 풀뿌리 민주주의의 대표로서 역할과 책임을 다해주시고 전국에서 가장 우수한 주민자치회로 발전해가길 기대한다”며 “경남도는 주민자치의 역량을 키우는 데 앞장서고, 주민자치회와 더욱 소통하고 협력을 강화해 나가기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
