업무보고 첫 날 기획조정실, 자치행정국, 일자리경제국, 복지여성국 등 4개국과 4개 담당관실 업무보고를 받았으며 △특례시 권한 확보 △민선8기 조직 개편 △열악한 일자리 문제 △출산율 제고 정책 △사각지대 없는 복지 등 시정 현안의 전반적인 사항에 대해 부서장들의 보고와 심도 있는 답변을 주고 받았다.
특히 경제자유구역 지정과 기업 유치를 예로 들면서 권한과 규정 등에 제한되는 한계를 극복하고 법을 바꾸어서라도 시민들을 위한 것이라면 과감하게 추진해 줄 것과 또한 행정을 추진함에 있어 시민들과의 적극적인 소통을 당부했다.
