파주시(시장 김경일)는 지난 13일 2기갑여단 원사 박성민이 군 복무 30주년을 맞아 6.25참전유공자들의 숭고한 희생을 기리며 쌀 10kg 70포를 6.25참전유공자회 파주시지회에 전달했다고 밝혔다.
기탁물품은 기부자의 뜻에 따라 생활이 어려운 유공자를 대상으로 7월까지 전달할 예정이다.

오철환 6.25참전유공자 파주시지회장은 ”군 복무 30년을 훌륭하게 마친 국군 후배가 선배들의 희생을 잊지 않고 쌀을 기탁해주셔서 감사드린다“고 말했다.
이에 박성민 원사는 ”우리가 군 복무를 행복하고 평화롭게 할 수 있는 것은 6.25참전유공자 선배님들의 희생 덕분“이라며, ”6.25참전유공자 대부분이 생활이 어려운 80세 이상의 고령자로, 후배들이 도와드리는 건 당연한 도리“라고 말했다.
이태희 복지정책과장은 ”우리가 누리는 풍요로운 삶은 국가유공자분들의 숭고한 희생과 헌신을 바탕으로 이룩한 것“이라며, ”앞으로도 국가유공자분들이 사회적으로 예우 받는 분위기 조성에 앞장서겠다“고 말했다.파주=박정호기자
