[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] ‘자연?인간?연극’을 주제로 한 ‘2022년 제32회 거창국제연극제’가 오는 22일부터 내달 5일까지 15일간 거창군 수승대 일대에서 개최된다.
거창국제연극제는 1989년 시월연극제로 시작해 32년의 전통을 이어온 야외연극축제이다.
특히 올해 연극제는 연극인, 거창군민, 관객 모두가 주인공으로서 참여하고 노력한 결과 2018년 이후 4년 만에 개최된다는 점에서 의미가 크다.
이번 거창국제연극제는 개?폐막식과 국내외 초청공연, 국내외 프린지 공연, 국내 경연공연, 체험행사 등 다양한 프로그램으로 구성되어 있다.
개막식은 오는 22일 오후 7시 30분에 거창군 수승대 수중특설무대에서 열리며, 거창전통예술공연단의 식전공연과 함께 개막선언, 공연 소개와 개막공연 순으로 진행된다.
개막공연 ‘거창 한여름밤의 꿈’은 셰익스피어의 한여름 밤의 꿈을 모티브로 제작되었고, 연극제 참가 단체들과 거창연극고등학교 학생 등 거창 지역 예술인이 참여한다.

또한, ‘BEGIN AGAIN, 또 다른 세상, 꿈꾸는 열정’이라는 연극제 슬로건에 맞추어 거창국제연극제의 새로운 시작을 알리고, 코로나19와 일상의 어려운 시간을 이겨내고 새로운 세상으로 나아간다는 의미를 담아 불꽃드론이 여름밤 하늘을 화려하게 수놓을 예정이다.
올해 연극제는 미국, 그리스의 해외 공식 초청공연을 비롯해 프랑스, 몽골, 우크라이나, 불가리아, 슬로바키아, 아프리카연합의 프린지공연, 국내 20개 단체의 공식 초청공연, 21개 단체의 프린지 공연, 7개 단체 경연 공연 등 56개 단체가 총 75회 공연을 펼친다.
작품들은 1인극, 마당극, 가족극, 음악극, 뮤지컬, 무용, 마임, 서커스 등 다양한 장르로 구성되어 있다.
