[브레이크뉴스=이성욜 기자] 창원특례시는 20일 도로교통공단, 진해경찰서, 창원산업진흥원 등 3개 기관과 창원시 지역거점 스마트시티 조성사업의 교통분야 업무협약을 체결했다.
이번 업무협약은 창원시 지역거점 스마트시티 조성사업으로 수집되는 통신 빅데이터 기반 C-ITS의 활용 및 스마트 신호체계 구축을 도모하기 위해 마련됐다.
주요 협약 사항으로는 교통분야 스마트시티 조성·운영에 필요한 교통데이터 제공, 창원시 교통데이터를 활용한 신호체계 개선, 스마트시티 조성에 따른 인프라 구축 지원, 스마트시티 운영에 필요한 서비스 제공 지원 등이다.
이를 통해 시는 관내 전 구간의 교통데이터와 주요 정체구간의 실시간 교통정보를 수집·제공하며, 도로교통공단과 진해경찰서는 해당 데이터를 활용한 스마트 신호체계를 운영하여 변화하는 교통환경에 맞는 서비스를 제공할 계획이다.
