파주시(시장 김경일)는 지난 21일 국방부와 50억원 규모의 국?공유재산 교환계약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
국가가 점유한 시유지와 시가 점유한 국유지는 이번에 체결한 교환계약을 통해 실제 점유하고 있는 기관이 소유권을 확보하게 돼 상호 간 재산의 활용도가 높아지게 됐다.
시가 소유권을 이전받게 되는 토지는 법원시가지 우회도로 개설에 따른 잔여부지로 최근 법원읍 해바라기 꽃밭 축제장으로 활용됐다.
그동안은 토지 소유권이 확보되지 않아 토지 이용에 제한이 있었으나 시는 이번 교환계약 체결로 좀 더 다양한 행정수요에 대응할 수 있게 됐다.
김태훈 회계과장은 “군부대가 점유하고 있던 시유지를 상호교환의 방법으로 이전받아 지역주민의 편의를 증진시킬 수 있게 됐다”며, “시민들의 의견을 담아 구체적인 활용방안을 마련하고, 앞으로도 국·공유지 교환사업을 지속 추진하겠다”고 말했다.파주=박정호기자
