[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도는 도민들이 안심하고 마실 수 있는 수돗물 공급을 위해 지난 11일부터 22일까지 2주간 도내 정수장 51개소에 대해 실시한 정수장 유충 특별점검을 완료했다.
이번 특별점검 시, 정수처리 전 공정에 대한 유충 모니터링 실시 여부, 정수장 주변 유충 서식 우려 환경 정비 및 정수장 위생시설 관리 상태 등을 확인 했으며, 현장에서 정수 전공정별 유충 모니터링도 실시했다.
점검결과 창원 석동정수장을 제외한 도내 정수장 50개소에서 정수장 위생상태가 양호했으며 정수공정 전과정 모니터링 결과 유충 등 특이사항을 발견하지 못했다.
또한, 김해 명동정수장, 함안 함안정수장, 합천 해인사정수장에서는 정수 유출부 등에 미세여과망을 설치했으며, 밀양 교동정수장에서는 여과지에 추가적인 미세방충망을 설치하는 등 전 시·군이 유충 차단을 위해 적응 대응하고 있다.
경남도는 고온다습한 기후로 인해 유충 발생 가능성이 높아짐에 따라 자체적으로 유충 모니터링 주기 및 모니터링 지점을 강화해 실시하고 있으며, 외부로부터 유충 유입 차단 등 안전한 수돗물 공급을 위해 “정수장 위생관리 개선사업”에 200억 2,200만 원을 투자해 정수장 시설 개선을 추진 중이다.
