권기식 한중도시우호협회장(사진)이 25일 중국 베이징대 방문학자로 선정됐다. 권기식 회장은 8월 하순 출국해 가을학기에 베이징대에서 한중 관계 및 동북아 국제관계를 연구할 예정이다.
권기식 회장은 김대중 정부 청와대 비서관을 거쳐 영남매일신문 회장을 역임했으며, 지난 2016년 한중도시우호협회를 설립해 한중 지방정부 교류에 앞장서고 있다. 권기식 회장은 지난 2017년 칭화대 방문학자를 역임한 바 있다. 권기식 회장은 "베이징대 체류 기간 중 중국내 각계 인사들과 다양한 교류를 하게 될 것으로 기대한다"고 말했다.

Kwon Ki-shik, president of the Korea-China Urban Friendship Association (pictured), was selected as a visiting scholar at Peking University in China on the 25th. Chairman Kwon Ki-sik will depart in late August and study Korea-China relations and Northeast Asian international relations at Peking University in the fall semester.
