고양시가 2050년 탄소중립 달성 및 사회 전환을 위한 ‘고양시 탄소중립.녹색성장 기본계획 수립’ 용역 착수보고회를 개최했다고 1일 밝혔다.
고양시청에서 열린 착수보고회에는 한창익 기후환경국장과 김미수 시의원, 정민경 시의원, 관련 전문가, 시민단체, 관련 부서 등 총 20여명이 현장 참석하고 15개 관련 부서의 담당자들이 온라인으로 참여했다.

고양시 탄소중립.녹색성장 기본계획 수립 용역은 「기후위기 대응을 위한 탄소중립.녹색성장 기본법」에 따라 올해 3월부터 기초지자체의 ▲온실가스 감축목표 수립 및 이행점검 ▲기후영향평가 ▲온실가스 감축인지예산제 등이 의무화됨에 따라 국비 보조를 받아 추진됐다.
시는 용역을 통해 2030년 고양시 온실가스 감축목표 상향, 부문별 세부이행계획을 수립하고 2040년, 2050년까지 단계별로 탄소중립 사회로의 로드맵과 비전을 제시할 계획이다.
참석자들은 우리나라 2030 국가온실가스감축목표와 세부이행계획, 2050 탄소중립 시나리오, 국내외 지자체의 추진 사례 등을 확인하고 고양시가 나야가야 할 방향을 논의했다.
시 관계자는 “현재 전세계 최대 관심사는 기후위기”라며 “고양시가 시승격 30년만에 특례시로 도약한 시점에 기후위기에 체계적으로 대응해 30년 후 탄소중립 사회로 전환될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다. 고양=박정호기자
