[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시 도시개발사업소(소장 나재용)는 1일 지역 현안사업 중 평성일반산업단지 조성 등 부진 사업현장을 방문해 사업이 부진한 사유를 분석하고 해소방안을 논의했다.
나재용 도시개발사업소장의 지역현안사업 현장방문은 지난 7월 27일 명동2·자은지구 도시개발사업 현장을 시작으로 4일에 걸쳐 이루어졌다.
마지막 현장방문은 창원시 내서읍의 주요 현안인 평성일반산업단지 조성사업에 대한 이해를 높이고 문제점을 공유해 대책을 강구하기 위해 마련됐다.
평성일반산업단지는 창원시가 지난 2015년 대우건설 컨소시엄을 민간사업자로 선정해 추진 중인 민관협력사업으로 산업, 주거, 지원 및 공원시설 등 69만6천㎡의 복합산업단지 조성을 추진한다.
그러나 추진 과정에서 사업성 하락과 경기침체 등 여건변화로 인해 2019년 산업단지계획 승인 이후 사업이 부진한 상태에 있으며, 최근 지역 시의원과 주민들이 지역발전과 일자리 창출을 위해 본 사업을 조속히 추진해달라는 요구를 강하게 제기하고 있다.
