이번 알뜰 경제왕 선발은 코로나19로 침체된 지역경제 회생의 일환인 울진사랑카드 10% 캐시백 혜택에 이어, 군민뿐만 아니라 울진을 찾는 관광객의 지역 내 활발한 소비활동을 유도하기 위해 시행한다.
선발방법은 울진사랑카드 사용자를 대상으로 8월부터 11월까지 4개월 동안 사용금액이 많은 상위 20명을 선정하며, 대상기간에 울진사랑카드를 사용하면 자동으로 참여하게 된다.
12월 중 상위 사용자를 선발하여 20만원씩 울진사랑카드 포인트로 지급할 예정이다.
한편, 지난 7월 1일부터 울진사랑카드 가맹점 등록 의무화가 시행되어 현재 2,500여 개소가 등록되어 있으며, 군은 가맹점 확대를 위해 홈페이지 및 모바일 앱 ‘그리고’ 등을 통해 지속적으로 홍보하고 있다.
손병복 울진군수는 “이번 알뜰 경제왕 선발과 함께 추석 명절을 앞두고 울진사랑카드 할인한도 상향 등도 계획 중이니, 앞으로도 지역경제 활성화를 위해 울진사랑카드 사용에 적극적으로 동참해 주시기 바란다”고 전했다.
