[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] ‘신통일한국 피스로드 2022 경상남도 통일대장정’이 한반도의 통일 실현과 세계평화의 증진에 기여하고자 4일 경남도청 대강당 및 광장에서 개최됐다.
이날 출정식에는 박완수 경상남도지사을 비롯해 김진부 도의회 의장, 강기윤 국회의원(국민의힘, 창원성산), 송광석 피스로드 2022 한국 실행위원장 등 400여 명이 참석했다.
이날 행사는 개회선언을 시작으로 세계연합 종주단 환영식, 평화메시지 낭독, 통일의 노래, 만세삼창 순으로 진행됐다.
이어 자전거 라이딩에서는 생활자전거타기실천협의회 회원 등 도내 자전거 동호인 200여 명이 도청광장을 출발해 시청로터리, 공단본부삼거리, 명곡로터리 등을 경유해 창원 만남의 광장까지 8km를 종주했다.
2013년 ‘한일 3,800km 평화의 자전거 통일대장정’으로 시작된 피스로드 프로젝트는 (사)남북통일운동국민연합이 주관하고, 전 세계 160개국, 40만 명이 참가하는 평화축제다.
경남에서는 지난 6월 19일 거제를 시작으로 오는 15일까지 3,000여 명이 동참하는 자전거 국토 종주가 펼쳐진다.
박완수 도지사는 “지금은 남북관계가 어려운 시기를 겪고 있지만 한반도의 영구적인 평화와 통일을 위한 노력은 지속되어야 한다.”면서 “평화라는 페달을 힘껏 밟아나간다면 앞으로 한반도 평화와 통일은 현실이 되고, 대한민국 번영의 새로운 기회가 될 것이다.”고 말했다.
한편, 지난 2일 제주에서 시작된 전국 국토 대종주는 오는 11일에 파주 임진각에서 대장정의 막을 내릴 예정이다.
