파주시는 파주시 새마을회가 지난 6일 최접경지역인 장단면에서 말라리아 퇴치 합동방역을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

새마을지도자파주시협의회 방역봉사대는 올해 5월부터 말라리아 퇴치를 위한 유충 방제에 총력을 기울이고 있으며, 특히 모기의 활동 시간대인 야간에 축사 주변 등 주요 발생지를 집중 방역하고, 모든 방역소독 약품을 친환경 제품으로 사용해 시민의 건강을 최우선으로 방역 활동을 펼치고 있다.
파주시보건소에서는 방역 활동을 하는 새마을지도자들의 사고 발생을 최소화하기 위해 방역차에 위치관제시스템을 설치, 방역정보지리시스템 앱으로 실시간 위치와 동선을 파악할 수 있도록 했고, 약품 정량 사용과 보호구 착용 등 안전교육도 실시했다.
