[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시는 관내 골프장의 농약 사용기준 준수 확인을 위해 가야CC를 비롯한 5개 골프장에 대해 민·관 합동으로 농약 사용량 점검과 잔류량 검사를 실시했다.

물환경보전법에 따르면 골프장을 설치·관리하는 자는 골프장의 잔디 및 수목 등에 맹·고독성 농약을 사용하면 안되며 위반 시에는 1000만원의 과태료가 부과되고 토양지하수정보시스템에 공개된다.

김해시는 골프장에서 살포하는 각종 농약으로 인한 토양과 수질 오염 여부를 확인하기 위해 매년 건기(4~6월)와 우기(7~9월) 2차례에 걸쳐 시료를 채취해 검사를 실시하고 있으며 그동안 맹·고독성 농약은 검출되지 않았다.

이번 시료 채취는 골프장 인근 지역주민 대표 8명과 김해시의원 1명 참관 하에 투명하게 이루어졌으며 골프장 토양(그린, 페어웨이)과 수질 검사를 위해 연못, 최종 유출수 시료를 채취해 경상남도보건환경연구원에 검사 의뢰했다.

이용규 수질환경과장은 “골프장 농약으로 인한 토양 오염과 주변지역 수질 오염 관리를 위해 지역주민이 동참하는 점검을 지속적으로 실시하겠다”며 “골프장에서도 친환경적 농약 사용과 더불어 사용량 저감에 힘써주길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
