브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이준석 국민의힘 대표는 15일 윤석열 대통령이 지난 대선 당시 자신을 '이XX 저XX'라고 했다는 주장과 관련 "소위 윤핵관(윤석열 핵심 관계자)과 윤핵관 호소인들이 저를 때리기 위해 들어오는 약간 지령 비슷한 역할을 한 것"이라고 밝혔다.
이준석 대표는 이날 CBS라디오 '김현정의 뉴스쇼'에서 "그 사람들이 그걸 듣고서 '대통령이 이준석을 별로 안 좋아하는구나', '그러니깐 쟤 때려도 되겠다' 하는 것"이라며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "제가 들은 평가는 '100년 만에 나올 만한 당 대표'. 'XX' 조합하면 '100년 만에 나올 만한 XX'라는 건가"라며 "준공개적인 자리에서 나름 정당의 고위급 관계자들이 있는 자리에서 그렇게 해버리면 그 사람들이 저에 대해서 어떻게 생각하겠느냐"고 되물었다.
이어 "조수진 의원이 그 말을 듣고 그렇게 했는지 모르겠지만 조 의원이 (선대위 회의에서) '나는 당 대표의 말을 듣지 않겠다'라는 말을 할 수 있었겠냐"면서 "다른 정황이 있었는지 모르겠지만 그런 이해가 안 가는 이들이 있었다"고 회상했다.

이준석 대표는 향후 윤석열 대통령과 만날 의향이 있느냐는 질문에는 "내가 정치 지도자들을 만나는 거에 이렇게 목매는 것도 아니고 실질적인 얘기를 하기 어려울 거라고 본다. 지금 상황에서 대통령께서 무슨 말씀을 하시면 해석이 뒤따를 것"이라고 부정적으로 바라보며 "(대통령이) 저에게 어떤 유감 표명이라든지 한다고 했을때 그건 바라지 않는다. 대한민국 대통령은 그렇게 하면 안된다. 저는 그거 받으려고 지금 하는 것도 아니다"라고 했다.
