고양시가 오는 9월 13일부터 11월 30일까지 2022년 2학기 대학생 본인부담등록금 지원 신청을 접수한다.
고양시는 대학생들의 실질적인 교육비 경감과 학자금 대출 부담을 완화하기 위해 「고양시 대학생 본인부담 등록금 지원 조례」에 따라 작년부터 등록금을 지원하고 있다.
올해는 조례 개정을 통해 지원금 지원을 확대 시행한다.

지원대상은 29세 이하(1993년 이후 출생)의 △국민기초생활수급자 △차상위계층 △법정 한부모가정 △소득 8구간 이내인 장애인 및 세 자녀 이상의 다자녀 가정 대학생 △소득 3구간 이내인 대학생이다.
소득은 한국장학재단 국가장학금 지원을 위해 산출하는 학자금 지원구간 기준을 준용한다.
지원 학생은 직전학기 12학점 이상 수료, 평균 C학점 이상의 성적 조건을 갖춰야 하며 지원 신청일 현재 가구원 1인 이상과 함께 고양시에 3년 이상 계속해 주민등록을 두거나 합산 10년 이상 주민등록을 두어야 한다.
하지만 학업을 위해 고양시가 아닌 학교 소재지 인근에 주민등록 주소를 둔 학생도 일정한 거주요건을 충족할 경우 지원 받을 수 있다.
단, 중복지원 방지 등을 위해 지원을 희망하는 대학생은 국가장학금 지원 대상 학교에 재학 중이어야 하며 올해 2학기 국가장학금이 반드시 사전에 신청되어있어야 한다.
지원 금액은 타 기관에서 지원받은 장학금을 뺀 본인부담 등록금으로 복지대상 대학생은 본인부담 등록금의 100%, 그 외 지원 대상 대학생은 본인부담 등록금의 50%를 지원 받을 수 있으며 최대 지원 금액은 한 학기 100만원, 연간 150만원이다.
신청은 오는 9월 13일부터 11월 30일까지이며 고양시청 홈페이지를 통하거나 고양시 평생교육과에 방문 또는 우편으로 가능하다.
고양시는 지원요건 충족 여부를 확인하고 오는 12월말 지원금을 지급할 예정이다.
