박완수 도지사는 16일 두산에너빌리티를 방문해 원전산업 업체와 오찬 간담회를 갖고 현안 및 애로사항에 대해 논의했다.
이날 박완수 도지사는 “경남 원전산업은 지난 정부의 탈원전 정책으로 매출이 감소하거나 폐업으로 위축되어 있는 상태”라며 “원전산업을 집중적으로 육성하고 정상화시키는 과정을 통해 경남을 대한민국 원전산업의 중심지로 만들어 나갈 것이다”고 밝혔다.
또한, 원전산업을 방위산업, 항공산업과 더불어 경남의 비교우위 산업으로 집중 육성하겠다는 의지를 밝히며 경남도의 원전산업 생태계 강화방안을 공유했다.

경남도는 정부 지원대책과 연계해 경남 중소기업 육성자금 지원 시 특별자금 지원 대상에 원전 업종을 추가해서 지원하고, 원전 업종에 대한 상생협력 특례자금을 신설하는 방안을 추진하고 있다.
특히 2020년 8월에 지정받은 에너지산업융복합단지에 원전산업 분야도 추가로 포함시켜 연구개발, 지방투자보조금, 세제 혜택 등을 지원받을 수 있도록 적극 검토해 나가기로 했다.
