국제페스티벌 서울웹페스트(Seoul Webfest) 측은 19일자 보도자료에서 “올해로 제8회를 맞이하는 웹전문 국제페스티벌 서울웹페스트(Seoul Webfest) 시상식이 20일 구로 엘 컨벤션에서 열린다. 이번 행사는 서울웹페스트 조직위원회에서 주관하고 부일컨텐츠에서 후원한다. 서울웹페스트는 웹전문 디지털 콘텐츠 축제로 인터넷 네트워크와 영화가 결합된 뉴 미디어의 한 형태로 사용자 중심 콘텐츠의 영화제다. 참여자 모두가 콘텐츠 생산자이자 소비자로 세계인의 콘텐츠 축제의 장이 서울웹페스트”라고 설명하고 “이번 행사에는 해외 28개국 151편, 국내 40편 등 총191편의 작품들이 수상후보에 올랐다. 한국 작품 수상후보작으로는 브랜디드 웹드라마, K-pop스타 아이돌의 출연과 수상후보작들이 많아졌다. 이번행사에 아스트로 라키는 처음으로 레드카펫과 시상식에 참여한다. 이정재 정우성의 아티스트컴퍼니에 소속되어 있는 이수민 배우도 참석한다. 그외에 헤일로의 주이안 배우, 라이징 스타 배시진 배우도 참여한다”고 전했다.

김재겸 감독의 단편<번화가>는 번화가 속에 사는 외로운 주인공들을 그린 작품으로 애플 Apple TV가 제작한 <파친코 Pachinko>에서 주연을 맡았던 김민하 Minha Kim 배우가 이번 작품에서 여우주연상 후보에 올랐다. 이번 행사에는 웹드라마 달콤살콤 시즌1로 해외 영화제에서 남우주연상 후보에 올랐던 배우 김명호가 홍보대사로 역시 레드카펫을 밟는다.

강영만 집행위원장은 “올해 서울웹페스트는 웹 브랜드의 확장을 위해 특별한 이벤트들을 기획했는데 특히 한국 크리에이터들과 외국크리에이터들의 매치메이킹 이벤트는 한국 크리에이트들이 외국 관계자들과 공동합작은 물론 활발한 비즈니스 교류를 가능하게 할 것”이라 강조한다. 이번 서울웹페스트 시상식은 8월 20일 토요일 레드카펫, 뷔페와 함께 진행된다.
