고양시가 비무장지대(DMZ) 인근의 생태?역사?평화 자원을 생생하게 체험할 수 있는 ‘디엠지(DMZ) 평화의 길’을 운영한다.
디엠지평화의길 고양 구간은 9월 13일부터 11월 23일까지 주5일, 1회당 선착순 20명으로 제한하여 개방된다.
‘디엠지(DMZ) 평화의 길’은 남북평화 촉진 및 접경지역 경제 활성화를 위해 인천시 강화군에서 강원도 고성군까지 총 526Km에 걸친 세계 유일의 접경테마 도보여행길이다.

문체부, 행안부, 국방부, 통일부, 환경부 등 5개 부처와 10개 시군이 합동으로 추진하는 사업이며 올해 처음으로 10개 시군 모든 노선이 전면 개방된다.
고양시 구간은 고양관광정보센터에서 출발하여 행주산성 역사공원까지 버스로 이동한 뒤 다시 행주나루터를 따라 한강변을 걸은 후 장항습지탐조대, 통일촌막사를 방문하는 구간이다.
대한민국 제24번째로 지정된 람사르습지인 장항습지의 아름다운 생태경관과 40여년간 미개방 구간이던 군철책길(2.5km)을 걷는 이색적인 평화·생태 코스이다.
고양시 한강하구는 무장공비 침투를 막기 위해 설치했던 철책이 가장 먼저 제거된 장소라는 점과 풍요로운 한강의 생태계를 엿볼 수 있는 곳이다.

특히 이번 프로그램은 전문해설가가 동행하는 도보여행으로 더욱 의미 있는 여행이 될 예정이다.
참가 신청은‘디엠지(DMZ) 평화의 길’ 누리집과 걷기 여행길 정보제공 앱 ‘두루누비’를 통해 할 수 있다.
DMZ 평화의길 참가비는 1인당 1만원이며, 여행 이후 사용할 수 있는 고양시 브랜드상품 쿠폰이 함께 지급된다.
