김경일 파주시장, 파주시행복장학회에 장학금 기탁

김경일 파주시장이 19일 (재)파주시행복장학회(이사장 고병헌, 이하 장학회)에 장학금을 기탁했다.

이날 기탁한 장학금은 김경일 파주시장이 지난 6월 파주시장직 인수위원회에서 위원장으로 활동하며 회의 참석 등 활동으로 받은 수당 전액이다.

기탁금을 전달하는 자리에서 김경일 시장은 “많지 않은 금액이지만 시장직을 준비하며 파주시민의 세금으로 처음 받은 수당을 장학사업에 보탤 수 있어 개인적으로 무척 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 여건이 허락하는 대로 금액의 많고 적음에 관계없이 장학금을 기탁할 것”이라고 말했다.

김경일 시장은 또 “민선8기 파주시를 보육시설 확충, 교육시스템 강화 및 청소년 문화공간 조성 등을 통해 ‘아이와 부모가 행복한 명품교육도시’로 만들어 나갈 것”이라며 “시민 여러분께서도 파주의 소중한 인재들이 꿈을 키울 수 있도록 장학사업에 동참해주시면 좋겠다”고 말했다.
