군에 따르면 지난 8월 9일 국토연구원이 발표한 신규 국가산단후보지 선정 연구용역 추진에 따른 후속 대응조치다.
신규 국가산단후보지 선정은 새정부 지역 정책공약에 반영된 국가산업단지 조성사업을 대상으로 올해 11월까지 평가를 거쳐 12월 최종 선정발표로이뤄질 계획이며, 울진군은‘원자력수소 국가산업단지’로 평가대상에올라가 있다.
군은 제안서 제출 등 대응을 위해 경북도와 공동으로 연구용역 준비 중이며, 예타 신청 예정인‘대규모 청정수소 생산.실증단지조성사업’과연계하여 한수원, 현대ENG, 효성 등 대기업과 투자협약을 체결하는 한편 관련 소부장 기업을 대상으로 입주의향서를 받을 계획이다.
또 입주 수요 및 타당성을 확보하기 위해 기 시행 중인‘울진군 전기요금 지원사업’에 국가산단 특례조항을넣어 입주기업에파격적인 인센티브를 제공하고 원자력 수소 특화단지 지정도 추진한다는 방침이다.
손병복 울진군수는“국가산단이 유치되면 고속도로 등 광역교통망 확충과, 인구유입, 일자리 창출로 비약적인 지역발전이 가능해진다”며“지역 백년대계를 위해 국가산단 유치에 총력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
