파주시, 문체부 ‘관광교통 개선사업’ 공모 선정

파주시는 문화체육관광부에서 주관하는 ‘2022년 지역 관광교통 개선사업’ 공모에 선정돼 국비 1억9,500만원을 확보했다고 밝혔다.

'관광교통’은 관광 목적지까지의 모든 여정에 걸쳐 관광객이 이용하는 다양한 교통수단을 의미하며, 관광객의 관광 만족도와 직결된다.

문화체육관광부에서는 방한 외래 개별관광객의 교통 편의를 높이기 위해 광역 및 기초자치단체를 대상으로 공모를 추진해 1차 서류심사, 2차 현장심사를 거쳐 파주시와 여수시를 선정했다.

선정을 통해 시는 총 사업비 3억9,000만원(국비 50%+시비 50%)을 투입해 통일동산 관광특구를 방문하는 내·외국인의 교통편의를 위한 관광교통개선사업을 추진한다.

특히 키오스크 설치, 다국어 관광교통정보 앱 개발, 관광특구 교통 안내 시스템 개선 등을 위한 관광교통개선사업을 추진할 방침이다.

파주시 관계자는 “이번 관광교통개선사업을 통해 코로나19로 침체된 통일동산 관광특구의 활성화를 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.[파주=박정호기자]
