파주시의회 의원들이 24일 파주소방서 을지연습 근무자를 격려하기 위해 현장을 방문했다.
파주소방서에서 진행중인 올해 54회째인 을지연습은 “을지 자유의 방패(UFS·을지프리덤실드)”라는 이름으로 국가비상사태에 능동적으로 대처하기 위하여 정부차원에서 종합적으로 비상대비업무를 수행하는 훈련이다.

이에 이성철 파주시의회 의장을 비롯해 11명의 파주시 의원들은 24일 파주소방서 을지연습장에 방문하여 소방업무에 대한 상황보고를 받은 뒤 전시대비 국가 위기관리 가상훈련 참가자들을 격려하는 자리를 마련했다.
이성철 파주시의회 의장은 “대비태세 확립에 애쓰고 있는 상황 근무자들의 노고에 감사드리며, 국가비상사태 발생 시 소방의 업무는 막중하다며 국민의 생명과 안전을 지킬 수 있도록 만전을 다해주길 바란다”고 말했다.
정찬영 파주소방서장은 “파주시는 북한과 마주하는 접경지이자, 유사시 가장 먼저 대처가 이뤄져야 하는 곳이다.”며 “이번 훈련을 통해 전시에 업무수행절차를 숙지하고 국가 위기상황 속 소방업무를 명확히 수행할 수 있는 파주소방서가 되겠다.”고 말했다.[파주=박정호기자]
