대전시의회는 24일, 충북 보은군에서 개최하는 제27회 김창환배 전국남녀펜싱선수권대회 겸 국가대표선수 선발대회 현장을 방문해 오상욱 선수 등 대전시 펜싱팀 감독, 선수를 격려하고 응원을 전했다.

시의원 일동은 “펜싱은 대전시의 대표 브랜드 종목으로 오상욱 선수 등 소속 선수들이 우수한 성적을 거두며 대전체육 발전에 이바지한 바가 큰 것으로 안다”며, “의회 차원에서도 시 소속 체육인들의 끊임없는 성장?발전을 위한 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다.”고 밝혔다.

한편 이번 대회는 사단법인 대한펜싱협회가 주최?주관하고 전국 중?고등, 대학, 일반부 97개 팀 900여 명이 참가하며 22일부터 26일까지 5일간 경기가 펼쳐진다.

대전시 펜싱팀은 2019년 7월 창단 후 현재 양승환, 김태영 감독과 오상욱, 전은혜, 전하영, 윤소연, 이수환, 이슬, 조한신 선수로 구성돼 있다.
