[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 제8회 한국쌀전업농 경상남도연합회 회원대회가 25일 진주시 종합실내체육관에서 26일까지 일정으로 열린다.
(사)한국쌀전업농 경상남도연합회(회장 정연정) 주관으로 2007년부터 격년제로 개최하고 있는 이 대회는 쌀 산업의 핵심주체를 육성하고 쌀 전업농가들이 화합하기 위한 행사이다.
작년 개최 예정이었으나, 도민 안전과 코로나19 확산 예방을 위한 조치로 한해 미뤄 2년만인 올해 행사를 추진하게 됐다.
경남도는 코로나19 재유행에 따른 사전 조치로 각 시군에 출발 전 참석자 발열유무 확인을 의무화하고, 행사 중에는 마스크 착용과 손 소독 등 기본적인 방역 사항을 반드시 준수할 것을 요청했다.
올해는 농기자재 전시회와 함께 회원화합 한마당 행사를 개최해 도내 쌀 전업농들이 새로운 정보를 공유하고 서로 화합을 도모할 수 있는 자리를 제공한다.
25일 개회식에서는 그간 고품질 쌀 생산과 쌀 전업농 발전에 기여한 유공자에게 농림축산식품부 장관 및 도지사 등 표창과 쌀전업농 경상남도연합회장의 감사패를 수여함으로써 쌀 전업농에 대한 자긍심을 고취했다.
또한 기타 부대행사로 시군별 브랜드 쌀 전시, 농기자재 전시, 인절미 떡만들기 행사, 등 시군의 우수한 브랜드 쌀과 새로운 농기계 및 농자재에 정보를 제공하는 다양한 자리를 마련했다.
26일에는 벼 저탄소 농업기술 실천방안 교육과 친환경농업에 대한 현장기술 습득을 위한 친환경농업단지 방문, 진주시 문화탐방 투어를 끝으로 행사를 마무리 할 계획이다.
경남도 정연상 농정국장은 “식생활의 변화로 쌀 소비량이 줄고 국내외 여건 변화에 따른 쌀값 하락으로 많은 쌀 전업농가들이 어려움을 겪고 있다“며 ”이러한 농업의 위기를 기회로 삼고 지속가능한 성장의 계기를 마련하기 위해 다 함께 노력할 것“을 당부했다.
