브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘이 이준석 전 대표가 제기한 법원의 비상대책위원회 효력정지 가처분 판결에 따른 후폭풍이 거세다.
법원이 이 전 대표측의 신청을 받아들여 주호영 비대위원장의 직무가 정지되자, 국민의힘 비대위는 지난 29일 추석 전까지 당헌 당규를 개정해 새 비대위를 출범시키기로 의견을 모으고 권성동 원내대표를 비대위원장 직무대행으로 결정했다.
이에 당내에선 '권성동 책임론'이 일며 권 원내대표의 사퇴 목소리가 커지고 있다. 하지만 권성동 원내대표는 당이 '비상상황'임을 강조하며 "새로운 비대위 출범을 위해 원내대표로서 반드시 수행해야 하는 임무가 있다"고 사퇴를 사실상 거부했다.
또한 새로운 비대위 출범 작업에 들어가기 전부터 제동이 걸렸다. 당헌 당규를 고치고 새 비대위원장을 임명하려면 상임전국위와 전국위를 여러차례 열어 의결 절차를 밟아가야 하는데, 전국위의장인 서병수 의원이 당이 요구한 전국위 소집 요구에 응하지 않겠다는 뜻을 밝혔기 때문이다.
서병수 의원은 법원이 당이 현재 비상상황이 아니라고 판단해 비대위 자체를 무효화한 것이라며 똑같은 잘못을 반복해선 안 된다고 주장했다.
서병수 의원은 "전국위원회 의결을 거쳐서 (새 비대위 구성을) 한다면 그런 하자가 치유될 수 있으리라고 생각을 했는데, 법원 판결은 그게 전부 안 된다고 한 것"이라며 "그런 절차를 밟으면 나중에 결론은 또 비슷하게 나오게 될 것"이라며 부정적인 의견을 피력했다.
이런 가운데 이준석 전 대표측은 무효인 비대위가 내세운 권성동 비대위원장 직무대행과 비대위원 전원의 효력를 정지해달라며 추가 가처분 신청을 법원에 냈다.
이준석 전 대표 측 변호인단은 입장문을 통해 "무효인 비대위원장의 직무대행도 무효이고, 무효인 비대위원장이 임명한 비대위원도 무효다. 비상상황이 아님에도 불구하고 설치한 비대위 자체가 무효"라며 "무효인 비대위가 임명한 ‘무효 직무대행’과 ‘무효 비대위원’은 당을 운영할 적법한 권한이 없다. 정당민주주의에 반하며 헌법 및 민주적인 내부질서를 유지하기 위해 당원의 총의를 반영해야 한다는 정당법에도 위반되므로 무효라는 서울남부지방법원의 가처분 결정 이유에 정면으로 반하는 결과"라고 주장했다.
한편 국민의힘은 30일 오전 의원총회를 열고 새로운 비대위 출범을 위한 당헌당규 개정안에 대해 논의하기로 했다. 권 원내대표에 대한 사퇴 요구와 함께 서병수 전국위의장이 반대 의견을 굽히지 않고 있어 이날 의총에서도 격론이 오갈 것으로 예상된다.
