[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남경찰청은 30일 경남경찰청 4층 강당에서 안보자문협의회와 함께 추석을 맞아 낯선 환경에서 생활하고 있는 북한이탈주민을 초청해 안정적인 국내정착을 위한 위문·격려행사를 진행했다.
이날 행사에는 도내 거주 북한이탈주민 중 경제적·심리적 어려움을 겪고 있는 북한이탈주민 22명을 선정해 위문과 격려로 안정적인 일상을 영위할 수 있도록 위문금 1인 50만원씩 총 1,100만원 등을 전달했다.
김병수 경남경찰청장은 “북한이탈주민과 情 나누기 행사를 통해 고향을 떠나 이곳에서 추석명절을 맞이하는 북한이탈주민들의 외롭고 쓸쓸한 마음을 조금이나마 따뜻한 위로를 드리게 되어 기쁘게 생각하며, 북한이탈주민들의 성공적인 국내정착이 북녘 동포들에게 희망이 되고 평화통일의 초석이 되는 만큼 안보자문협의회에서도 북한이탈주민들에게 더 큰 애정과 관심을 가져주시길 당부드링다”고 말했다.
