대한노인회 파주시지회가 주최하는 ‘제2회 대한노인회파주시지회장기 한궁대회’가 9월 1일 파주시민회관 대공연장에서 개최했다.
이날 행사에는 김경일 파주시장, 이성철 파주시의회 의장, 대회 참가자 등 250여 명이 참석한 가운데 내빈소개, 개회선언, 국민의례, 노인강령 낭독, 지회장 대회사, 내빈 축사, 경기 진행의 순으로 진행됐다.

이번 대회는 16개 분회경로당에서 분회별 최대 2팀(팀당 5명씩)이 단체전으로 출전해 총 27팀이 예선, 준결승, 결승전을 통해 우승을 결정했으며, 개인전은 단체전에서 각 팀 최고득점자가 1명씩 출전하는 방식으로 경기를 진행했다.

김경일 파주시장은 “2019년도에 첫 개최 후, 코로나19로 약 2년 만에 한궁대회가 재개돼 매우 기쁘다”며, “앞으로도 어르신들의 건강하고 활기찬 노후생활을 위해 시에서도 지원과 노력을 아끼지 않겠다”고 전했다.
한궁은 전통놀이인 투호와 궁도, 서양의 전통놀이인 다트와 양궁이 조화를 이룬 생활체육으로 특별한 장비나 기술 없이도 간단한 동작을 통해 신체활동을 증가시켜 어르신들의 관심과 참여가 꾸준히 늘고 있다.[파주=박정호기자]
