[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자]세계중소기업협의회(ICSB) 아이만 타라비쉬 회장과 김기찬 전임 회장, 경제·인문사회연구회 성경륭 전 이사장 등 세계중소기업협의회 주요 임원진이 진주시 K-기업가정신센터를 2일 방문했다.
세계중소기업협의회는 1955년 설립되어 85개국 2000여 명의 회원을 보유한 세계 최초의 비영리 국제조직으로, 전 세계 중소기업의 이익과 발전을 위해 노력하고 있다.
이번 방문은 2023년 광주광역시에서 개최되는 ‘세계중소기업협의회 세계대회’를 준비하기 위해 한국을 방문한 실사단에게 지수면 승산마을의 역사와 한국경제 발전에 기여한 역할을 소개받은 아이만 타라비쉬 회장이 기업가정신에 대한 깊은 인상을 받고 진주 방문을 희망함에 따라 이루어졌다.
또한 2023년 7월 9일부터 14일까지 70여 개 국가의 기업인 등 1000여 명이 참가하는 세계중소기업협의회 세계대회 직후 부대행사를 진주 지수면에서 추진하기 위한 협의 차원의 방문이기도 하다.
진주시는 80년대 한국의 100대 기업 기업가 중 30명 이상을 배출한 옛 지수초등학교를 기업가정신 교육센터, 전시관, 전문도서관으로 리모델링하는 ‘대한민국 기업가정신 수도 구축사업’을 완료하고, 지난 3월 29일 개소해 운영하고 있다.
이날 아이만 타라비쉬 회장과의 면담에서 조규일 진주시장은 “진주시는 한국의 경제를 이끈 기업가 정신이 살아있는 곳이다. 진주시가 기업가정신의 성지로 자리매김할 수 있도록, 세계적인 네트워크를 구축하고 있는 ICSB의 적극적인 협조를 부탁드리며, 내년에 다시 뵐 수 있기를 희망한다”고 말했다.
이에 아이만 타라비쉬 회장은 “한국의 소도시에 K-기업가정신의 역사성을 간직하고 이를 계승하는 센터가 있어서 놀랍다. 내년에 개최하는 광주대회 부대행사에 각국의 경제인들을 모시고 다시 방문하겠다”고 화답했다.
한편, 진주시는 전 세계에 대한민국 기업가정신의 역사와 가치를 소개하기 위해 2023년 7월 15일과 16일 이틀간 ‘세계중소기업협의회 세계대회’ 참석자들을 초빙해 K-기업가정신센터 및 승산마을 현장탐방 행사를 진행할 예정이다.
또한 대한민국 기업가정신을 주제로 특별 콘퍼런스를 개최하여 ‘진주시 기업가정신 국립역사관’ 건립 추진의 당위성을 세계적으로 알려 국립역사관 건립 추진에 박차를 가할 예정이다.
