[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 오는 2023년도 예산 편성을 위한 주민참여예산 공모사업으로 총 16억원 규모의 59개 사업을 선정했다고 6일 밝혔다.
시는 지난 5월까지 주민참여예산사업을 접수해 6월까지 법률 및 조례위반 여부 등 소관부서의 타당성 검토를 거쳤다.
타당성 검토 결과 적격한 사업들에 대해 지난 7월 중순까지 읍면동별 참여예산지역주민회의와 시 분과위원회에서 사업의 필요성과 시급성, 공공성 등의 평가지표에 의해 항목별로 평가, 1차로 우선순위를 선정했다.
이어 1차 선정된 사업들에 대해 2차 심의를 위해 지난 8월 2일 운영위원회를 개최, 코로나19로 인해 8월 말까지 서면심의로 진행한 전체회의에서 진주성~진주교 간 옹벽 경관조명 설치사업 등 59개의 사업을 최종 선정했다.
주민참여예산위원회에서 최종 선정한 사업은 내년도 본예산 편성 요구사업에 반영돼 시의회의 예산 심의를 거쳐 확정되며, 진주시 홈페이지를 통해 시민에게 공개될 예정이다.
진주시 관계자는 “주민참여예산제에 적극 참여해 주신 시민 여러분께 감사드린다”며“주민이 직접 결정한 사업이 예산에 반영되고 실현될 수 있도록 더욱 세심한 노력을 기울이겠다”고 말했다.
한편 진주시는 2019년 주민참여예산위원회를 구성해 매년 공모사업을 실시해 올해까지 총 210건, 47억원의 주민참여예산사업을 편성했다.
