[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 사천과 남해를 오가며 더부살이를 했던 국립공원관리공단 한려해상국립공원사무소가 전국 최고의 노을 명소인 사천 실안에 새로운 보금자리를 마련했다.
한려해상국립공원사무소는 7일 박동식 사천시장, 하영제 국회의원, 윤형근 시의회 의장, 장충남 남해군수, 송형근 국립공원공단 이사장 등 50여명이 참석한 청사 개소식을 가졌다.
남해군 상주면에 소재했던 한려해상국립공원사무소는 지난 2014년 태풍으로 침수·폐쇄되면서 사천시 용현면 소재의 임시청사를 사용했다.
하지만, 이 임시청사는 면적이 협소하고 시설이 부족해 업무를 수행하는 데 어려움이 있었다.
이에 한려해상국립공원사무소는 2019년 사천시와 업무협약을 체결, 68여억원의 사업비로 연면적 2,174㎡, 지상 3층 규모의 청사를 건립한 것.
2021년 5월 착공해 올해 6월 준공했으며, 3과(행정과, 해양자원과, 탐방시설과), 2분소(금산분소, 노량분소) 82명으로 운영된다.
한려해상국립공원은 1968년 우리나라에서 2번째이자 해상공원으로는 최초로 국립공원으로 지정됐다.
거제시 지심도에서 전남 여수시 오동도까지 300리 뱃길을 따라 크고 작은 섬들과 천혜의 자연경관이 조화를 이루는 해양생태계의 보고이다.
상주·금산지구, 남해대교지구, 사천지구, 통영·한산지구, 거제·해금강지구, 여수·오동도지구의 전체 면적은 535.6㎢이며, 76%가 해상면적이다.
