파주시는 지난 9일 파주 스타디움에서 북한이탈주민으로 구성된 북한문화예술공연 전문예술단체인 임진강예술단이 주관한 추석맞이 탈북민 위로 한마음 축제를 개최했다.
올해 7회째를 맞는 이번 행사는 민족 대명절인 추석을 맞아 고향과 가족을 그리워하는 탈북민들의 마음을 위로하기 위해 마련됐는데, 임진강예술단의 북한문화예술공연, 북한 음식 나눔, 주민 장기자랑, 경품 추첨 등 풍성한 즐길 거리로 채워진 한마음 축제는 명절 분위기를 돋웠다.

백영숙 임진강예술단 대표는 “명절에 오갈 데 없는 탈북민들에게 국수 한 그릇이라도 나누고자 홀로 사비를 털어 시작했는데 파주시를 비롯한 여러 단체들의 후원을 받아 7년을 꾸준히 추진할 수 있었다”며 감사의 마음을 전했다.
김경일 파주시장은 “추석을 맞아 탈북민들이 북녘 고향의 향수를 달래며 북한 음식과 문화예술 공연을 즐길 수 있는 나눔의 장을 마련해준 임진강 예술단에 감사드린다”며, “앞으로도 탈북민의 지역사회 안정적인 정착과 탈북민과 지역주민들 간 소통과 화합을 강화할 수 있도록 시 차원의 노력을 지속해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
