파주시는 13일 ‘경기 어울림터 공원조성사업’ 설계용역 중간보고회를 개최했다.
이날 중간보고회는 김경일 파주시장, 정학조 파주도시관광공사장 등 관련 국장, 과장이 참석한 가운데 진행됐으며, 공모사업의 취지와 시민 의견을 반영한 공원 개선계획을 꼼꼼히 체크하고 이용자 중심의 공원을 위한 다양한 의견도 나눴다.

경기 어울림터 공원조성사업은 금촌택지지구가 조성되면서 만들어진 근린공원 3개소와 어린이공원 8개소의 노후공원을 개선하는 사업으로 지난 2021년 경기 First 정책공모에 ‘기존 공원은 잊어라!! New Face Open!!’이라는 주제로 응모해 최우수 사업으로 선정돼 확보한 도비 50억원으로 추진하는 프로젝트다.
파주시는 올해 3월 이 사업의 설계용역을 착수하면서부터 공모사업의 취지를 반영해 시설이 낡고 편의시설이 거의 없어 불편한 기존 공원의 문제점을 개선하고 현재 공원 트렌드에 맞도록 노후공원을 새롭게 혁신하는 중이다.
김경일 파주시장은 “공원은 시민들의 삶과 생활에 필수적이고 중요한 기반 시설로 이 사업을 통해 시민들의 여가와 소통 공간을 확대하겠다”며 “시민 중심의 새로운 공원으로 재탄생시켜 파주시의 품격에 어울리는 공원으로 만들어 달라”고 당부했다.
