브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 국민연금공단이 14일 오후 2시 공단 본부(전북 전주시)에서 ‘창립 35주년 기념식’을 개최했다.
이날 행사는 임직원 약 50명이 참석한 가운데, 국회 보건복지상임위원회 정춘숙 위원장과 김관영 전북도지사의 영상 축하 메시지 상영, 유공 직원 포상 등으로 진행됐다.
김태현 이사장은 기념사에서 “국민연금공단은 1987년 창립 이래 가입자 2200만 명, 수급자 600만 명의 국민 노후소득보장 중심기관으로 자리매김했다”며 “기금 적립금 약 900조 원을 운용하는 세계 3대 연기금으로 성장했다. 지난 35년 동안 제도발전을 위해 힘써준 임직원들에게 감사한다”고 전했다.
아울러 앞으로 ‘지속 가능한 복지국가 개혁’을 위해 대국민 서비스 접점 기관으로서 ‘국민 관점’에서 국민들이 체감할 수 있는 맞춤서비스를 제공해야 한다며 네 가지를 강조했다.
김 이사장은 “연금개혁을 위한 사회적 합의가 중요한 만큼 대국민 소통을 강화해 상생의 연금개혁이 이뤄지도록 적극 지원하겠다”며 “더 많은 국민에게 더 많은 연금을 지급하기 위한 그간의 노력을 바탕으로 지속 가능한 연금제도 및 복지서비스로 국민의 노후준비를 포함한 종합적인 사회안전망을 구축하겠다”고 말했다.
이어 “기금운용의 투명성을 높이고 대내외 리스크에 신속히 대응하는 등 글로벌 연기금의 위상에 걸맞은 전략으로 국민의 소중한 노후 자산을 안정적으로 운용할 것”이라며 “신속·정확·편리한 대국민 서비스 제공을 위해 끊임없이 혁신하고, 지자체 및 지역 유관기관과의 긴밀한 협업으로 지역사회 문제 해결에 앞장서는 등 상생협력을 실현하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
마지막으로 김 이사장은 임직원에게 “35년 간 쌓아온 경험과 역량을 바탕으로 모두가 한마음이 도해 나아가야 한다”며, “국민의 노후와 복지서비스를 위해 책임을 다하고 국민의 기대에 부응한다는 소명감과 자부심을 가져주길 바란다”고 당부했다.
