파주시는 지난 14일 농업기술센터 농업과학교육관 3층 교육장에서 2022년 파주시 농업인대학 수료식을 갖고 교육생 53명에게 수료증을 수여했다.
시는 2007년부터 매년 농업인대학을 실시하고 있으며, 농업·농촌의 새로운 가치 창출을 위해 지역 농업인뿐만 아니라 도시민도 함께 참여하는 교육을 제공하고 있다.

올해는 약용작물 재배기술 심화과정인 허준약초전문가반과 농업현장에 성공적으로 정착할 수 있는 신규농업인 양성반을 운영했으며, 보다 전문성 있는 이론교육과 현장실습을 통해 파주농업을 선도할 수 있는 농업전문인력을 양성했다.
김현철 소장은 수료생들에 대한 격려사에서 “농업은 생명산업이며 국민의 먹거리 창출과 식량안보, 환경보전 등 돈으로 환산할 수 없는 공익적 기능이 무한한 산업”이라며 “6개월 동안 의기투합해 함께 공부한 농업인대학 수료생 여러분들이 파주시 농업·농촌의 새로운 기틀을 마련할 수 있는 중심이 되어 달라”고 당부했다.[파주=박정호기자]
