고양시가 강매배수펌프장 증설 공사를 본격 추진한다.
고양시는 총 483억 원의 규모의 강매지구 상습침수지역 정비사업을 시작할 계획이라고 15일 밝혔다.
강매동 성사천 하류는 지대가 낮아 집중호우시에 배수펌프장을 이용해 강제로 배수해야 하는 지역이다.

2011년과 2018년 큰 침수 피해가 일어났으며 올해도 집중호우로 인해 주거지 침수 피해가 발생해 배수펌프장 증설이 시급한 지역이다.
더 이상의 침수 피해를 막기 위해 시는 2021년부터 기본 및 실시설계를 추진하고 올해 5월 침수피해가 우려되는 지역(면적 174,102㎡)을 자연재해위험개선지구로 지정.고시하는 등 사전 행정절차를 진행했다.
예산을 확보하기 위해 이동환 고양시장을 비롯해 지역 국회의원 및 도·시의원의 적극적으로 나섰다.
그 결과 총사업비의 50%인 241억 원을 국비로 지원받는 성과를 거두었으며 현재 정부가 제출한 예산의 국회 통과 절차만 남은 상태이다.

이동환 시장은 “이번 정비 사업이 완료되면 배수펌프장 펌프시설 4,050㎥, 유수지 47,400㎥가 증가한다.
지역 주민들의 주거지 및 농경지의 침수피해가 발생하지 않도록 사업 추진에 박차를 가하여 안전도시 고양시를 만들겠다.”고 말했다.
