민주평화통일자문회의 파주시협의회는 23일 파주시 시민회관에서 3분기 정기회의를 개최했다.
이날 회의는 김경일 파주시장을 비롯해 자문위원 30여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘북핵문제 해결과 한반도 평화번영을 위한 담대한 구상’이라는 주제에 대한 자유로운 토론이 진행됐다.

또한 한반도 평화번영을 위한 자문위원의 역할과 실천 과제 등을 논의하고, 파주 평화플랜, 평화통일 기원 걷기대회 등 올해 남은 사업에 대해 의견을 모으는 시간을 가졌다.
최정윤 협의회장은 함께 추진해야 할 사업들이 남아 있는 만큼 자문위원들의 적극적인 관심과 협조를 요청했다.

회의에 참석한 김경일 파주시장은 “파주는 통일의 길목에 위치하고 있어 평화통일이 미치는 영향이 큰 만큼 시민의 평화통일에 대한 공감대 형성을 위한 자문위원의 역할이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 자문위원 모두가 긍지와 자부심을 가지고 더 크게 도약하는 파주를 위해 애써 주시기를 바란다”고 말했다.
파주시협의회는 평화통일 기반조성을 위해 구성된 지역 내 각계각층의 72명의 자문위원으로 구성돼 있으며, 분기마다 열리는 정기회의는 평화통일 공감대 형성을 위한 교류의 장이 되고 있다. [파주=박정호기자]
