고양시가 지난 22일 k-water 경기서북권지사 고양정수장의 수돗물 생산 공급 및 정수처리 공정 시설을 현장 방문했다.
최근 전국에서 깔따구 유충 수돗물에 대한 논란이 발생하고 낙동강 녹조가 심화되는 등 수돗물 안전성에 대한 시민의 불안이 커지고 있다.

이에 따라 시는 수돗물 생산시설에 방문해 위생 관리 상황을 점검했다.
현장을 방문한 고양시 상하수도사업소 관계자는 깔따구 유충과 녹조에 대한 사전예방 및 발생시 단계별 대응에 대한 설명을 들은 뒤 지사 관계자들과 질의·응답시간을 가졌다.
이후 중앙제어시스템 등 생산시설에 방문해 정수 처리 현장을 점검하고 수돗물의 생산·공급을 관리하는 원격감지시스템을 둘러보았다.
시 관계자는 “최근 깔따구 유충과 녹조 때문에 많은 시민이 수돗물 안전을 걱정하고 있다. 믿을 수 있는 수돗물 공급을 위해 K-water와 업무 협력 체계를 강화하고 철저한 관리와 대책 수립·운영으로 시민 우려를 해소하겠다.”고 말했다. [고양=박정호기자]
