【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 지난 22일 관계 공무원 20명과 함께 미래 첨단 농업시설을 갖춘 경북 상주시 사벌국면 엄암리 일대의‘경상북도 스마트팜 혁신밸리’를 견학하고 향후 울진 농업 발전방안을 모색했다고 23일 밝혔다.

경상북도 스마트팜 혁신밸리는 스마트팜 청년농을 육성하고 첨단 미래농업 기술을 생산하는 농업혁신의 핵심 국책사업이며, 전국 다른 3곳의 스마트팜(전북 김제, 전남 고흥, 경남 밀양)과 비교해 규모가 가장 크다.

또한, 경상북도의 혁신밸리는 기본 시설인 청년창업보육센터, 실증단지, 임대형 스마트팜(청년보육생용) 뿐만 아니라 청년농촌보금자리, 문화거리, 임대형 스마트팜(기존 농업인용) 등 지역 맞춤형 연계사업도 추진해 사업의 파급효과를 높이고 있다.

현장에서 교육을 받고 있는 한 청년농업인은 “전혀 다른 전공을 갖고 있었는데 이곳에서 교육, 실습, 저렴하게 보금자리까지 지원을 해주고, 수입까지 생기니 너무 행복하게 실습하고 있다”며“내가 교육받는 장소에 다른 국가에서까지 벤치마킹을 올 정도로 관심이 높다는 사실에 자부심을 느낀다”고 말했다.

손병복 울진군수는 “경상북도의 청년 농업인 5,000명 육성정책에 발맞춰 울진군도 젊은 후계농 육성을 위해 ICT기술을 접목한 스마트팜 단지 조성 등 울진형 농업 일자리 창출과 지역 농가 소득증대로 농업인이 행복하고 희망이 있는 농촌을 만들기 위해 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
