[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시가 읍면동 주민자치위원회의 주민자치 권한을 대폭 강화한 주민자치회로의 전환을 알리는 주민자치회 통합 출범식이 지난 23일 중소기업비즈니스센터에서 개최했다.
주민자치회는 주민 스스로 지역문제를 발굴하고 해결하는 주민자치 조직으로 주민들의 자치활동 지원·운영, 주민참여예산 사업 선정, 행정사무 위탁운영 등으로 실질적인 풀뿌리 민주주의의 실현을 꾀한다.
시는 공개모집으로 접수한 주민을 대상으로 주민자치 온라인 기본교육 을 실시하고 공개 추첨으로 16개 읍면동 566명의 주민자치회 위원을 최종 선정했다.
이날 출범식은 주민자치회 전환 16개 읍면동 주민자치회 위원, 국회의원, 도의원, 시의원 등 600여명이 대면, 비대면으로 참여한 가운데 주민자치회 출범 응원 메시지 영상 시청, 위촉장 수여, 주민자치회 선언문 낭독 순으로 진행됐다.

또 행사의 대미로 주민자치회 위원, 김해시장, 국회의원, 도·시의원이 함께 ‘주민의 꿈이 이루어지는 따뜻한 행복도시 김해’라는 문장을 완성하며 주민자치회의 힘찬 출발을 알렸다.
이로써 김해지역 19개 읍면동 가운데 지난해 주민자치회를 시범 출범시킨 활천동을 포함해 17개 읍면동에 주민자치회 조직이 만들어졌으며 한림면과 칠산서부동은 올 연말께 주민자치회를 출범할 계획이라고 전했다.
홍태용 시장은 “지난해 활천동 주민자치회 출범을 시작으로 오늘 16개 읍면동 주민자치회 통합 출범까지 많은 분들의 적극적인 참여와 격려 덕분에 우리 시는 주민 중심의 진정한 자치분권시대로 첫걸음을 떼게 됐다”며 “우리 시 주민자치회가 시민들이 바라는 꿈과 행복을 담아 힘차게 나아가기를 희망한다”고 전했다.
한편 16개 읍면동 주민자치회는 오는 10~11월 컨설팅을 통해 2023년도 자치계획을 수립하고 12월 주민총회를 열어 자치계획을 의결할 예정이다.
